A vulnerability has been found in Responsive Filemanager up to 9.13.2 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code block of the file /filemanager/upload.php. The manipulation of the argument url with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. /filemanager/upload.php in Responsive FileManager before 9.13.3 allows Directory Traversal and SSRF because the url parameter is used directly in a curl_exec call, as demonstrated by a file:///etc/passwd value.
The bug was discovered 08/09/2018. The weakness was released 08/18/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at seclists.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-15495 since 08/17/2018.
