A vulnerability has been found in libvirt up to 2.1 (Virtualization Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown code of the component QEMU Command Line. libvirt before 2.2 includes Ceph credentials on the qemu command line when using RADOS Block Device (aka RBD), which allows local users to obtain sensitive information via a process listing.
The bug was discovered 11/03/2016. The weakness was presented 08/20/2018 (oss-sec). It is possible to read the advisory at openwall.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2015-5160 since 07/01/2015. Attacking locally is a requirement. A single authentication is needed for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. Upgrading to version 2.2 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published even before and not after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
