A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in xkbcommon up to 0.8.0. This affects the function CopyKeyAliasesToKeymap of the file xkbcomp/keycodes.c of the component Parser. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a null pointer dereference vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-476. Unchecked NULL pointer usage when handling invalid aliases in CopyKeyAliasesToKeymap in xkbcomp/keycodes.c in xkbcommon before 0.8.1 could be used by local attackers to crash (NULL pointer dereference) the xkbcommon parser by supplying a crafted keymap file.
