An issue was discovered in Joomla! before 3.8.12. Inadequate output filtering on the user profile page could lead to a stored XSS attack.
The bug was discovered 08/28/2018. The weakness was disclosed 08/29/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at developer.joomla.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-15880 since 08/26/2018. The attack can be initiated remotely. The requirement for exploitation is a single authentication.
