A vulnerability was found in ImageMagick 7.0.8-4 (Image Processing Software). It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is the function fputc of the file coders/dcm.c. The functions ReadDCMImage in coders/dcm.c, ReadPWPImage in coders/pwp.c, ReadCALSImage in coders/cals.c, and ReadPICTImage in coders/pict.c in ImageMagick 7.0.8-4 do not check the return value of the fputc function, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted image file.
The bug was discovered 07/04/2018. The weakness was released 09/06/2018 (Website). The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2018-16643 since 09/06/2018.
