A vulnerability has been found in Elefant CMS up to 2.0.6 (Content Management System) and classified as critical. An issue was discovered in Elefant CMS before 2.0.7. There is a PHP Code Execution Vulnerability in apps/filemanager/upload/drop.php by using /filemanager/api/rm/.htaccess to remove the .htaccess file, and then using a filename that ends in .php followed by space characters (for bypassing the blacklist).
The bug was discovered 09/11/2018. The weakness was released 09/12/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2018-16974 since 09/12/2018. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
