Race condition in the Phone Proxy component in Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software 9.1(.3) and earlier allows remote attackers to bypass sec_db authentication and provide certain pass-through services to untrusted devices via a crafted configuration-file TFTP request, aka Bug ID CSCuj66766.
The weakness was disclosed 02/20/2014 with Cisco as CSCuj66766 as confirmed security notice (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at tools.cisco.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2014-0739 since 01/02/2014. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
Applying the patch CSCuj66766 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at tools.cisco.com. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
