CouchDB in Vectra Networks Cognito Brain and Sensor before 4.3 contains a local code execution vulnerability.
The bug was discovered 09/05/2018. The weakness was disclosed 09/21/2018 by Julien Egloff and Thibault Guittet with Synacktiv as CouchDB Instance Allows Local Code Execution (post authentication) as confirmed security advisory (Website). The advisory is available at vectra.ai. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2018-14889 since 08/03/2018. Local access is required to approach this attack. The successful exploitation requires a authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
