Telegram Desktop (aka tdesktop) 1.3.14, and Telegram 3.3.0.0 WP8.1 on Windows, leaks end-user public and private IP addresses during a call because of an unsafe default behavior in which P2P connections are accepted from clients outside of the My Contacts list.
The bug was discovered 09/27/2018. The weakness was released 09/29/2018 (Website). The advisory is available at inputzero.io. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-17780 since 09/29/2018. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
