Detailsinfo

A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in Barracuda Web Filter 6.0.1.009. This affects an unknown code block of the component Add Domain Page. The manipulation of the argument grid__data/grid_columns/x-grid3-cell-inner/x-grid3-col-name with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. This is going to have an impact on integrity.

The weakness was published 02/24/2014 by Benjamin Kunz Mejri with Vulnerability Lab as Barracuda Networks Bug Bounty #35 as confirmed advisory (Packetstorm). The advisory is shared at packetstormsecurity.com. The public release has been coordinated with Barracuda. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details and a public exploit are known.
