Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in IBM QRadar Incident Forensics 7.2/7.3 (Log Management Software). Affected by this issue is an unknown code. The manipulation with the input value /../ leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
IBM QRadar Incident Forensics 7.2 and 7.3 could allow a remote attacker to traverse directories on the system. An attacker could send a specially-crafted URL request containing "dot dot" sequences (/../) to view arbitrary files on the system. IBM X-Force ID: 144655.
