A vulnerability has been found in Apache ActiveMQ up to 5.15.5 (Application Server Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the file queue.jsp of the component Web-based Administration Console. The manipulation of the argument QueueFilter as part of a Parameter leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-79. An instance of a cross-site scripting vulnerability was identified to be present in the web based administration console on the queue.jsp page of Apache ActiveMQ versions 5.0.0 to 5.15.5. The root cause of this issue is improper data filtering of the QueueFilter parameter.
The bug was discovered 08/24/2018. The weakness was presented 10/10/2018 by Juraj Somorovsky (Website). The advisory is shared for download at activemq.apache.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-8006 since 03/08/2018. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
