A vulnerability was found in Teltonika RUT9XX up to 00.04. It has been rated as critical. This issue affects an unknown code block of the file autologin.cgi. Teltonika RUT9XX routers with firmware before 00.04.233 are prone to multiple unauthenticated OS command injection vulnerabilities in autologin.cgi and hotspotlogin.cgi due to insufficient user input sanitization. This allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges.
The bug was discovered 10/11/2018. The weakness was presented 10/15/2018 as not defined mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is shared at seclists.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2018-17532 since 09/25/2018. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1202 for this issue.
