A vulnerability has been found in Artifex Ghostscript (Document Processing Software) (the affected version unknown) and classified as critical. Artifex Ghostscript allows attackers to bypass a sandbox protection mechanism by leveraging exposure of system operators in the saved execution stack in an error object.
The bug was discovered 10/10/2018. The weakness was presented 10/15/2018 (oss-sec). The advisory is available at openwall.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-18073 since 10/09/2018. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1592 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
