A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Apple iOS 6.1/7.0.5 (Smartphone Operating System). This affects some unknown functionality of the component Photos Backend. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a access control vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-264. This is going to have an impact on integrity. The summary by CVE is:
Photos Backend in Apple iOS before 7.1 does not properly manage the asset-library cache during deletions, which allows physically proximate attackers to obtain sensitive photo data by launching the Photos app and looking under a transparent image.
The weakness was disclosed 03/11/2014 as HT6162 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2014-1281 since 01/08/2014. The exploitability is told to be easy. Attacking locally is a requirement. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
