LAquis SCADA Versions 4.1.0.3870 and prior, when processing project files the application fails to sanitize user input prior to performing write operations on a stack object, which may allow an attacker to execute code under the current process.
The bug was discovered 10/16/2018. The weakness was presented 10/17/2018 by Security Team (mr_me) with Zero Day Initiative (Website). The advisory is available at laquisscada.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2018-17901 since 10/02/2018. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
