Springboard in Apple iOS before 7.1 allows physically proximate attackers to bypass intended access restrictions and read the home screen by leveraging an application crash during activation of an unactivated device.
The weakness was shared 03/11/2014 as HT6162 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2014-1285 since 01/08/2014. The exploitation is known to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
