The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-3646 since 12/28/2017. The attack needs to be approached locally. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592. The advisory points out:

An information disclosure issue was addressed by flushing the L1 data cache at the virtual machine entry.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 112026 (RHEL 7 : Virtualization (RHSA-2018:2402) (Foreshadow)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Red Hat Local Security Checks and running in the context l. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 171690 (SUSE Enterprise Linux Security Update for xen (SUSE-SU-2018:3490-1)).

Upgrading to version 10.14.1 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
