A vulnerability was found in Google Chrome (Web Browser). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the component Omnibox. Incorrect handling of confusable characters in Omnibox in Google Chrome prior to 70.0.3538.67 allowed a remote attacker to spoof the contents of the Omnibox (URL bar) via a crafted domain name.
The bug was discovered 10/16/2018. The weakness was presented 11/14/2018 by Samuel Gross (xisigr) (Website). The advisory is available at chromereleases.googleblog.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2018-17473 since 09/25/2018. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
