A vulnerability was found in Google Chrome (Web Browser). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the component WebAssembly. A race in the handling of SharedArrayBuffers in WebAssembly in Google Chrome prior to 65.0.3325.146 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page.
The bug was discovered 03/06/2018. The weakness was shared 11/14/2018 by Abdulrahman Alqabandi (lokihardt) with Tencent (Website). The advisory is shared for download at chromereleases.googleblog.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-6061 since 01/23/2018. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
