A vulnerability was found in OpenSSH up to 6.6 (Connectivity Software). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects the function verify_host_key of the file sshconnect.c of the component Fingerprint Record Check. The verify_host_key function in sshconnect.c in the client in OpenSSH 6.6 and earlier allows remote servers to trigger the skipping of SSHFP DNS RR checking by presenting an unacceptable HostCertificate.
The weakness was shared 03/26/2014 by Matthew Vernon (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-2653 since 03/26/2014.
