A vulnerability has been found in Apache CouchDB 1.5.0 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown functionality of the file /_uuids of the component UUIDS Handler. The manipulation of the argument count with the input value 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 leads to a input validation vulnerability. Apache CouchDB 1.5.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU and memory consumption) via the count parameter to /_uuids.
The weakness was presented 03/26/2014 by KrustyHack as confirmed exploit (Exploit-DB). The advisory is shared for download at exploit-db.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-2668 since 03/28/2014. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
