A lack of CORS checks, after a Service Worker redirected to a cross-origin PDF, in Service Worker in Google Chrome prior to 66.0.3359.106 allowed a remote attacker to leak limited cross-origin data via a crafted HTML page.
The bug was discovered 04/17/2018. The weakness was published 12/04/2018 by Abdulrahman Alqabandi (lokihardt) with Tencent (Website). The advisory is shared for download at chromereleases.googleblog.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-6089 since 01/23/2018. The attack can be initiated remotely.
