A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in F5 BIG-IP APM Client up to 7.1.7.1 on Linux/macOS (Firewall Software). Affected is an unknown function of the component svpn. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a race condition vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-362. The svpn component of the F5 BIG-IP APM client prior to version 7.1.7.2 for Linux and macOS runs as a privileged process and can allow an unprivileged user to get ownership of files owned by root on the local client host in a race condition.
The bug was discovered 12/06/2018. The weakness was presented 12/06/2018 (Website). The advisory is available at support.f5.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2018-15332 since 08/14/2018.
