A vulnerability was found in Google Chrome up to 70.0.3538.110 (Web Browser). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects an unknown functionality of the component Skia. Heap buffer overflow in Skia in Google Chrome prior to 71.0.3578.80 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page.
The bug was discovered 12/04/2018. The weakness was published 12/11/2018 by Guang Gong with Qihoo 360 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at chromereleases.googleblog.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2018-18335 since 10/15/2018. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
