The bug was discovered 03/16/2005. The weakness was released 03/16/2005 by Ben Martel and Stephen Blackheath with Linux Team (Website). The advisory is shared at kernel.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2005-0384 since 02/14/2005. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1499 for this issue.
