A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Foxit Reader up to 9.2.0.9297 (Document Reader Software). This issue affects the function setInterval of the component XFA Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a use after free vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Foxit Reader 9.2.0.9297. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the XFA setInterval method. The issue results from the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing operations on the object. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-6458.
