A vulnerability was found in GPAC up to 0.7.2 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function cat_multiple_files of the file applications/mp4box/fileimport.c. GPAC version 0.7.2 and earlier has a buffer overflow vulnerability in the cat_multiple_files function in applications/mp4box/fileimport.c when MP4Box is used for a local directory containing crafted filenames.
The bug was discovered 12/22/2018. The weakness was released 02/06/2019 (Website). The advisory is available at lists.debian.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2018-20762 since 02/06/2019. Local access is required to approach this attack. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
