Insufficient sanitization of arguments passed to rsync can bypass the restrictions imposed by rssh, a restricted shell that should restrict users to perform only rsync operations, resulting in the execution of arbitrary shell commands.
The bug was discovered 02/05/2019. The weakness was published 02/06/2019 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at tracker.debian.org.
