Details
A vulnerability has been found in Genivia gSOAP up to 2.7.x/2.8.74 and classified as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown part of the component libgsoapck/libgsoapck++. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. As an impact it is known to affect availability. The summary by CVE is:
Genivia gSOAP 2.7.x and 2.8.x before 2.8.75 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (application abort) or possibly have unspecified other impact if a server application is built with the -DWITH_COOKIES flag. This affects the C/C++ libgsoapck/libgsoapck++ and libgsoapssl/libgsoapssl++ libraries, as these are built with that flag.
The bug was discovered 01/14/2019. The weakness was presented 02/09/2019 (Website). The advisory is shared at genivia.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2019-7659 since 02/09/2019.
