A vulnerability was found in Microsoft .NET Framework up to 4.7.2 (Programming Language Software). It has been declared as critical. The bug was discovered 02/12/2019. The weakness was published 02/12/2019 with NCC Group as confirmed security update guide (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at portal.msrc.microsoft.com. The public release has been coordinated with Microsoft. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2019-0613 since 11/26/2018. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The advisory points out:
A remote code execution vulnerability exists in .NET Framework and Visual Studio software when the software fails to check the source markup of a file.
The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 91503 (Microsoft .NET Framework Security Update February 2019).
Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
