The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with Microsoft. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2019-0659 since 11/26/2018. The attack may be initiated remotely. An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists when the Storage Service improperly handles file operations. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could gain elevated privileges on the victim system.
The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 91504 (Microsoft Windows Security Update February 2019).
