An issue was discovered in GNU libiberty, as distributed in GNU Binutils 2.32. It is a stack consumption issue in d_count_templates_scopes in cp-demangle.c after many recursive calls.
The bug was discovered 02/19/2019. The weakness was disclosed 02/24/2019 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2019-9071 since 02/23/2019. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
