Mozilla developers and community members reported memory safety bugs present in Firefox 63. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort that some of these could be exploited to run arbitrary code. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 64.
The bug was discovered 12/11/2018. The weakness was disclosed 02/28/2019 by Samuel Gross (xisigr) as Bug 1456947 as confirmed bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.mozilla.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2018-12406 since 06/14/2018. The attack may be launched remotely.
