A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Foo Labs Xpdf 4.01 (Document Reader Software). This issue affects the function gAtomicIncrement of the file GMutex.h. The manipulation as part of a PDF File leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. There is an Invalid memory access in gAtomicIncrement() located at GMutex.h in Xpdf 4.01. It can be triggered by sending a crafted pdf file to (for example) the pdftops binary. It allows an attacker to cause Denial of Service (Segmentation fault) or possibly have unspecified other impact.
