A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Windows 10 1803/10 1809/Server 1803/Server 2019 (Operating System) and classified as critical. A memory corruption vulnerability exists in the Windows DHCP client when an attacker sends specially crafted DHCP responses to a client. An attacker who successfully exploited the vulnerability could run arbitrary code on the client machine.
The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 91510 (Microsoft Windows Security Update March 2019).
Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
