A vulnerability was found in Poppler 0.74.0 (Document Reader Software). It has been classified as problematic. Affected is the function PDFDoc::markObject of the file PDFDoc.cc. The manipulation as part of a PDF File leads to a resource consumption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-400. The product does not properly control the allocation and maintenance of a limited resource, thereby enabling an actor to influence the amount of resources consumed, eventually leading to the exhaustion of available resources. PDFDoc::markObject in PDFDoc.cc in Poppler 0.74.0 mishandles dict marking, leading to stack consumption in the function Dict::find() located at Dict.cc, which can (for example) be triggered by passing a crafted pdf file to the pdfunite binary.
