A vulnerability was found in Moodle up to 3.4.7/3.5.4/3.6.2 (Learning Management Software) and classified as critical. This issue affects some unknown functionality of the component Calendar. A vulnerability was found in moodle before versions 3.6.3, 3.5.5 and 3.4.8. Permissions were not correctly checked before loading event information into the calendar's edit event modal popup, so logged in non-guest users could view unauthorised calendar events. (Note: It was read-only access, users could not edit the events.)
The bug was discovered 03/19/2019. The weakness was shared 03/26/2019 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared at bugzilla.redhat.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2019-3848 since 01/03/2019. The attack may be initiated remotely. A simple authentication is required for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.
