A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Atlassian Crowd up to 3.0.1/3.1.0. Affected by this issue is an unknown function of the component Console Login. The manipulation as part of a Cookie leads to a session fixiation vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-384. Authenticating a user, or otherwise establishing a new user session, without invalidating any existing session identifier gives an attacker the opportunity to steal authenticated sessions. The console login resource in Atlassian Crowd before version 3.0.2 and from version 3.1.0 before version 3.1.1 allows remote attackers, who have previously obtained a user's JSESSIONID cookie, to gain access to some of the built-in and potentially third party rest resources via a session fixation vulnerability.
