A vulnerability has been found in South River Technologies Titan FTP Server 2019 Build 3505 (File Transfer Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown functionality of the file /PreviewHandler.ashx. The manipulation of the argument path with the input value \..\..\..\..\Python27\README.txt leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. The weakness was published 03/26/2019 by Kevin Randall as CVE-2019-10009 Titan FTP Server Version 2019 Build 3505 Directory Traversal/Local File Inclusion as confirmed mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure).
