A memory corruption issue was addressed with improved input validation. This issue affected versions prior to macOS High Sierra 10.13.6, macOS Mojave 10.14.

The bug was discovered 01/03/2019. The weakness was shared 04/03/2019 by Colin Percival with Amazon (Website). The advisory is available at seclists.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2018-4456 since 01/02/2018. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
