The InMemoryUrlProtocol::Read function in media/filters/in_memory_url_protocol.cc in Google Chrome before 35.0.1916.114 relies on an insufficiently large integer data type, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read) via vectors that trigger use of a large buffer.
The weakness was shared 05/20/2014 (Website). The advisory is available at security.gentoo.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-1746 since 01/29/2014. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
