A vulnerability has been found in Tildeslash Monit up to 5.25.2 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function _viewlog of the file http/cervlet.c of the component HTTP Basic Authentication. The manipulation of the argument user as part of a Authorization Header leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability (Persistent). The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-79. Persistent cross-site scripting (XSS) in http/cervlet.c in Tildeslash Monit before 5.25.3 allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to introduce arbitrary JavaScript via manipulation of an unsanitized user field of the Authorization header for HTTP Basic Authentication, which is mishandled during an _viewlog operation.
The bug was discovered 03/04/2019. The weakness was published 04/22/2019 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at lists.fedoraproject.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2019-11454 since 04/22/2019. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
