Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in Linux Kernel up to 3.11.6 (Operating System). Affected is an unknown functionality of the file include/net/cipso_ipv4.h. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a resource consumption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-400. The product does not properly control the allocation and maintenance of a limited resource, thereby enabling an actor to influence the amount of resources consumed, eventually leading to the exhaustion of available resources. This is going to have an impact on availability. CVE summarizes:
cipso_v4_validate in include/net/cipso_ipv4.h in the Linux kernel before 3.11.7, when CONFIG_NETLABEL is disabled, allows attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop and crash), as demonstrated by icmpsic, a different vulnerability than CVE-2013-0310.
The weakness was shared 04/23/2019. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2013-7470 since 04/22/2019. It is possible to launch the attack remotely.
