Cross-origin images can be read in violation of the same-origin policy by exporting an image after using createImageBitmap to read the image and then rendering the resulting bitmap image within a canvas element. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 66.

The bug was discovered 03/19/2019. The weakness was disclosed 04/26/2019 (Website). The advisory is available at seclists.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2019-9797 since 03/14/2019. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
