Details
A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 5.0.7 (Operating System) and classified as very critical. Affected by this issue is the function rds_tcp_kill_sock of the file net/rds/tcp.c of the component Namespace Cleanup Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a race condition vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-362. The product contains a code sequence that can run concurrently with other code, and the code sequence requires temporary, exclusive access to a shared resource, but a timing window exists in which the shared resource can be modified by another code sequence that is operating concurrently. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
An issue was discovered in rds_tcp_kill_sock in net/rds/tcp.c in the Linux kernel before 5.0.8. There is a race condition leading to a use-after-free, related to net namespace cleanup.
The bug was discovered 03/28/2019. The weakness was disclosed 05/08/2019 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at cdn.kernel.org.
