A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Jet Database Engine (affected version not known) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown functionality in the library msjet40.dll of the component MDB Database Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. The bug was discovered 03/31/2005. The weakness was released 04/12/2005 with HexView (Website). The advisory is available at hexview.com. The vendor was not involved in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2005-0944 since 04/03/2005. The attack can only be initiated within the local network.
