A vulnerability was found in Apple iOS up to 12.2 (Smartphone Operating System). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the component StreamingZip. This vulnerability was named CVE-2019-8568 since 02/18/2019. The attack needs to be approached locally. A single authentication is needed for exploitation. A validation issue existed in the handling of symlinks. This issue was addressed with improved validation of symlinks.

Upgrading to version 12.3 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
