A vulnerability was found in Apple watchOS up to 5.2.0 (Smartwatch Operating System). It has been classified as critical. Affected is an unknown function of the component WebKit. Multiple memory corruption issues were addressed with improved memory handling. This issue is fixed in iOS 12.3, macOS Mojave 10.14.5, tvOS 12.3, watchOS 5.2.1, Safari 12.1.1, iTunes for Windows 12.9.5, iCloud for Windows 7.12. Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to arbitrary code execution.
The bug was discovered 05/13/2019. The weakness was presented 05/13/2019 with Google Project Zero as HT210122 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2019-8622 since 02/18/2019. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. Upgrading to version 5.2.1 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
