A vulnerability was found in Elabftw 1.8.5. It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing of the file /app/controllers/EntityController.php of the component File Upload. eLabFTW 1.8.5 is vulnerable to arbitrary file uploads via the /app/controllers/EntityController.php component. This may result in remote command execution. An attacker can use a user account to fully compromise the system using a POST request. This will allow for PHP files to be written to the web root, and for code to execute on the remote server.
The bug was discovered 05/20/2019. The weakness was published 05/20/2019. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2019-12185 since 05/19/2019. The exploitation is known to be easy.
